Hosting On Your Own

Being able to host on your own means that you have these few things:
  • Your Own Website
  • Credit-card or Bank Account Access
  • Knowledge on using html, xml, and hosting programs
If you have never tried blogging before and thinking of creating your own website and spending cash on a web-designer, please think twice. In my opinion, sit down and take time to have a feel of creating your own blog.

I will later on go on an in-depth of what it takes to Host A Website.

What Is Blogspot(Blogger)?

Wikipedia:

Blogger (formerly Blogspot until 2006) is a blog publishing system. It was created by Pyra Labs, which was bought by Google in 2003. The service itself is located at www.blogger.com, and blogs that do not publish to their own websites are hosted by Google at subdomains of blogspot.com.

I recommend everyone that is new in blogging to use blogspot, because it helps you create your blog in 4 steps. Its simple, its easy, and anyone can do it!

What Is WordPress?

What is WordPress?

WordPress is a site that helps you host your own blog. It is more technical and harder to use, but gives you a vast amount of features to use. I should warn you before trying it out.
WordPress has a large amount of steps you have to take before you can start your blog which may take you from the period of 1 hour to 3 hours.

Why?
As I have said WordPress is more technical, you would need a more than basic knowledge of the internet, html, xml, hosting, and setting up files on your computer.
If you think you can, then try it! Its worth the time.

An Introduction To Blogging

Welcome!
Thank You for taking time to visit my blog and
I hope that what I have here in-stored for you will benefit you.

Introduction

What is a blog?
Well rather than telling my own defition i'll use known sites to explain it.

From Wikipedia :

A blog (a contraction of the term "weblog")[1] is a type ofwebsite, usually maintained by an individual with regular entries of commentary, descriptions of events, or other material such as graphics or video. Entries are commonly displayed in reverse-chronological order. "Blog" can also be used as a verb, meaning to maintain or add content to a blog.

Many blogs provide commentary or news on a particular subject; others function as more personalonline diaries. A typical blog combines text, images, and links to other blogs, Web pages, and other media related to its topic. The ability for readers to leave comments in an interactive format is an important part of many blogs. Most blogs are primarily textual, although some focus on art (artlog), photographs (photoblog), sketches (sketchblog), videos (vlog), music (MP3 blog), and audio (podcasting). Micro-blogging is another type of blogging, featuring very short posts.

From Dictionary.com :

blog (blŏg) n. A weblog. intr.v. blogged, blog·ging, blogs To write entries in, add material to, or maintain a weblog.

So in conclusion a blog is a dairy, journal, newspaper, or information giving site where people or bloggers blog about their interest, hobbies, opinions, and etc...
